Diploma & Certificate of Completion
Instruction is delivered by teachers in small groups or one on one. Whole group presentations/instructions are also incorporated with guest speakers, school meetings, and specific lessons. Students work at their own level, and are not simply doing any type of work to make credits.
Curriculum is adopted by the California Department of Education and is standards based. District Benchmark testing will be given at least four times a year to assess academic growth. All students will take the California STAR Test and the CAHSEE (California High School Exit Exam) to receive a High School Diploma. Failure to pass the CAHSEE with a minimum score of 350 in Language Arts and Math will result in a student receiving a Certificate of Completion, rather than a High School Diploma. Students must also complete 235 credits to be eligible for Diploma.
